Power Teachers for Learning

May 17, 2026

We work with Ministries of Education and partners to support teachers’ transformation into Power Teachers. We use proven best teaching practices and motivation-focused teacher support strategies.

We have begun work with the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) Uganda. We are currently developing a low-cost, administration-light mobile phone-based incentive and professional development App, which we will use to incentivise teachers intrinsically and financially:

  • to teach all their classes every day
  • to improve learning outcomes
  • to complete professional development activities

In 2025, we piloted our Power Teachers for Learning model in a primary school in Eastern Uganda, working with 31 teachers (21 female), 1,777 children (1,020 girls), the headteacher, parents, community members, district, and MoES officials. An independent baseline and endline conducted by UWEZO highlighted the success of our model.

Power Teachers increase Children’s English Literacy 11.5×, Local Language 4×, and Mathematics Achievement 4×.
