This week Power Teachers Africa are so excited to have completed our baseline literacy and numeracy learning assessments to inform our piloting of our Power Teachers for Learning teacher motivation focused model in partnership with UWEZO Uganda. The assessment which took place over four days\u2014February 25 to 28, 2025, in our pilot school in Eastern Uganda<\/a><\/span> involved two days training by UWEZO of ten local UWEZO assessors and two days collecting data from 100 randomly assigned children in grades two to six. As part of this collaboration, data collectors used the Kobo Toolbox, a mobile-based application designed for efficient and accurate data collection in the field. \u201cI was honored to be part of this important initiative, serving as the technical assistant and trainer for the data collection team. My role involved ensuring all technical aspects ran smoothly, particularly supporting data collectors in operating the Kobo Tool app. I also facilitated hands-on training sessions to guide the team on how to help students respond effectively to the survey questions while inputting responses directly into the system\u201d, shared Edgar Wamala, Power Teachers Africa\u2019s Technology and Innovation Officer<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
